Paris, "The City of Lights", "The Most Romantic City in the World" and of course our favourite, "Gay Paris".

There's a thriving gay life in Paris. Most of the bars and restaurants are located in the Marais, in the 3rd and 4th arrondissements (districts), but there is plenty of activity outside of the Marais.

The dance clubs tend to be located outside of the Marais. Most Parisians will have dinner and drinks at the bars in the Marais then take a late metro or taxi to their favourite dance club around 1:00am.

But be careful, getting taxis on a Friday or Saturday night in Paris is nearly impossible. Luckily, the last metro is at 2:15am on weekends and 1:15am on weekdays.

Paris is a very international city. The French love it if you at least say "Bonjour" and "Merci", but don't worry about speaking English. Nearly all Parisians speak some English and many of them enjoy practicing their English on tourists. A compliment such as "You speak English very well!" is a big ego booster. (And just might be the charmer you'll need to seduce that cute Frenchie!)

The gay associations in Paris are also very popular. There are three gay swim clubs, the gay volleyball club, "Contrepied", has over 250 members and the gay youth association, MAG, is a great organisaton for young gays under 26 to meet, discuss and socialise.
